"Dreaming Backwards" is a book about redemption and moving forward in life. Centered around the authors discovery of photography in his early twenties, the stage for the creation of the images in the book was an early 1800s farm house in Madison county, Iowa (where Clint Eastwood's movie the Bridges of Madison County was filmed). Hansen's love of the home initiated a two year project where he returned continually to photograph the abandoned structure. The negatives which were created in 1974 through 1976 were set aside for 45 years before Hansen, during Covid, rediscovered the magic of his early work and felt the need to complete the creative circle of this legacy project.
The book celebrates the freedom to create for no other reason than to follow ones bliss and trust the guidance that unfolds through ones chosen creative process. Available in two formats as a 6"x6"soft cover title as well as na 8"x8" hard cover, limited edition book.
